![]() Artist costs about half what professional costs where I live. I have read the website- so I am looking more for practical answers. Cubase and Nuendo won't install, there is no upgrade path from such older versions. ![]() I can see that my entire investment from years ago is worthless. So we are looking at taking the creative process elsewhere, and building content in a DAW, then covering our own material- if that makes sense. As the others in this band are also quite busy, we struggle to find time to rehearse, and it is slow to develop new material. I also like the immediacy of playing music in real time, rather than firing up the DAW, and spending more time 'producing' than performing/creating. I joined a band as a guitarist, as I like interacting musically with others. So I dropped out for many years.įast forward to 'today'- where I miss music and creating. For me, music production is not something I can do 15 minutes here and there, and my 'real' career really was taking off. I then relocated to Europe, and had kids. I was also recently married, and spending maybe four hours per minute of output was eating too much time. I became a bit disillusioned at that time, looking at the effort versus the reward, and realized my day job was much more lucrative- my royalties were covering my car payment, and licensing checks were taxed at a very high rate- and everything was just reinvested in gear. It was a personal project studio- no outside work involved. That investment is worthless today- but I doubt I have lost any more than I would, had I invested it in comparable hardware- so I am not lamenting that.īack then, I was making money from my own content, primarily through licensing soundtrack work- but these were just 'songs'/music- nothing actually synched to the visuals. I had Waves Native Gold and a bunch of other soft synths, plug-ins, etc. Please note that Groove Agent ONE is only officially supported in Cubase (Artist) 5 through Cubase (Artist) 7.5.I'll try to avoid giving you my life story, but back in the early 2000s I was using Cubase SX, Wavelab, and then took a cheap crossgrade to Nuendo (2.0- I believe).
